Occursus (the "Service") is an individually operated service. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we collect the following information:

• Your name (Google account display name)
• Email address
• Profile picture URL
• Google User ID (for internal account management)

We also collect information you provide while using the Service:

• Reading records (book title, author, reading time, etc.)
• Child profile information (name, grade, etc.)
• Group and event participation history
• Purchase history (routes purchased, record-keeping payments, amounts, and purchase dates)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Identify and authenticate users
• Track reading marathon progress
• Send registration confirmations and important notices

We do not use your information for advertising purposes or sell it to third parties.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Parents/guardians can:

• View and delete their child's data at any time
• Delete their email address, Google ID, and profile information by deleting their account. Reading records and event data will be deleted after the retention period described in "5. Data Storage and Deletion"
• By using the Service, parents consent to the collection and use of their child's information as described in this policy

4. Information Sharing

We do not share personal information with third parties except:

• When required by law
• With infrastructure providers necessary to operate the Service (Google Cloud, Supabase)
• With our payment processor (Stripe, Inc.) as necessary to process payments (limited to purchase details, amounts, and email address)

5. Data Storage and Deletion

Your data is securely stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL).

If you request account deletion, we will delete the following information:

• Email address
• Google User ID
• Profile information (including your name, profile picture URL, and any child profile information)

Event and reading record data will be retained for a limited period (currently planned as 90 days) after the event ends and results have been sent as a PDF to your registered email address, after which it will be deleted from our servers. If you delete your account, associated event data will likewise be deleted after this same retention period.

However, for events (groups) shared with other participants, we will only delete the information belonging to the child whose account is being deleted (such as their reading logs, certificates, and badges) in order to protect other participants' data; the event itself and other participants' data will remain. In this case, administrator rights for that event will automatically be transferred to another participant (see our Terms of Service for details).

We may retain a record of deletion actions themselves (such as the date of deletion, without identifying information) for a limited period to help prevent fraudulent use of the Service.

Purchase history may be retained, in a form that does not identify you personally, for as long as required by applicable accounting and tax laws, even after your account is deleted.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.

We will notify you of any changes by updating this page. For significant changes, we will also notify you by email.
